CALIZ
Beyond the visible...

Sandrine Bollaert who signs her works CALIZ is a contemporary painter who lives and works in Paris.

 

For 25 years, this former banking sector executive, passionate about abstract contemporary art, practiced painting as an amateur.

She spent most of her free time in galleries, contemporary art fairs or in her studio and sold her works mainly by word of mouth.

Despite her profession practiced far from artistic circles, she called herself a Painter above all.

In 2020, she decided to devote herself fully to her Art.

CALIZ's work is based on material, light and movement.

​

His research focuses on the exploration of shapes and light using a chromatic palette limited to 2 or 3 colors and adding modeling of mineral and/or plant materials (sand, rope, earth, gold leaf, etc.) which she recovers in order to give them new life through her paintings.

​

Texture and color play an active role in the interaction with the viewer providing a tactile dimension and visual depth. This technique can arouse in the viewer a desire to touch, to feel the work, and thus creates a dialogue between the visual and the sensory.

​

Her works offer  a conversation between materiality and spirituality and invite a meditation on the fleeting nature of time, and our place in a structured but constantly evolving space.

​

His paintings with a cosmic tendency encourage the viewer to deeply reflect on his perception of the world and on his own relationship with the material and the spiritual.

​

There is a fluidity in his painting that is full of energy while captivating in a hypnotic way that propels the viewer into their own imagination via an immersive and contemplative experience.
